The DB3 interface module from Directed is the answer to adding keyless entry, remote starter and other features to newer model vehicles. It's ease of use, durability and wide-ranging application have made it a favorite among the professional. A universal, flashable data-bus interface turns commands from external sources into messages that on-board computers and other control devices can understand. With the wide variety of chips embedded in newer vehicles, this could be a daunting job if it were not for the Directed DB3. Using Flash technology, the unit can easily be programmed to be compatible with more than 90 percent of all vehicles in the road today. Adding an aftermarket remote start using the OEM keyfob becomes possible, as does integrating long-range remote start options such as the Viper SmartStart system. At 4-inches by 6.5-inches by 1.88-inches, this module can be tucked away virtually anywhere in the vehicle. It's improved power supply circuitry means it adds very little to the vehicle's power load while supplying increased processing power.
