Specifically developed buffing wheel compounds are essential for application on Sisal Buffs. Buffing compounds that perform well on cloth wheels frequently leave much to be desired when used on sisal buffs. The relatively open weave of woven sisal and the coarseness of cord sisal make it more difficult to retain a good compound head. While there is no single grade of compound that suits all jobs equally well, the grades listed below are widely used and represent a good starting point for test samples.
