Vintage Japanese Kimekomi Doll - 12" tall - 6" wide
Handmade - Each one unique - Usually given as Friendship gifts
The foundation is light and sturdy, made of remnants of the willow tree. The foundation is intricately carved in a pattern and then fabric is pushed into the grooves.
The fabrics are remnants of elegant kimonos mostly brocade - bottom and toes tabi - silk chirimen.
The head is ceramic, the face is hand-painted, the hair is a special tress for dolls, imitating natural Asian hair
Vintage 1960s - Very nice, clean condition - no damage - hair is very nice condition - slight pink around the lips and nose - please look at photos for visual description
