Up for sale is a WWII American Red Cross ARC Women's Uniform Service Tunic & Dress Overcoat!!! You will receive both pieces with your purchase. These are pretty interesting pieces and definitely very collectible. I have tried my best to summarize any issues with them below:The Service Tunic is in better shape of the two. It has some small holes here and there which are most likely moth bites with nothing too major. The piece is very minimal on any fraying. It appears to have all buttons and everything it would have come with. There is an ARC pin on the lapel as well as an American Red Cross Service Patch on the left arm along with 4 chevrons stitched into the forearm of the left arm as well. There are also two pins on the front of this service uniform. The pockets on this piece are faux.
The Dress Overcoat is not in as good condition as the Service Tunic. This piece has two separate parts; the outer shell and the inside wool liner which is red. They zip together to combine and the zippers are all present and function well. The shell does have a lot of small holes and moth bites throughout, particularly on the shoulders/arms/back of the piece. There is some more fraying on the inside of this piece as well on the outside of the red inner liner as well as the inside of the outer shell, so if you have these zipped together you won't see much fraying at all. All buttons appear to be present with this piece as well although there may have been a sash originally that unfortunately is not longer with the piece. The pockets on this one are real.
All in all, I would say these are both in good condition overall. Together, they weigh in at 6 pounds, 2.5 ounces total. If you know more information about either of the pieces, I would love to learn!
Any questions just ask, thanks for looking!
